Sony have announced the addition of Simple Live Streaming to the HXR-NX80 and PXW-Z90 camcorders via firmware update. This feature allows live streaming to popular online social media sites directly from the camera over any WiFi connection. Live streaming has been possible before using the Sony MCX-500 Multi Camera Live Producer but this makes it even simpler to live stream directly from the camera itself. With the rise of video across all forms of social media, and the demand for live coverage quickly the ability to stream immediately from the camera with no other equipment can be incredibly useful. Of course a single camera is not always going to cut it. When multiple cameras are required, the Sony MCX-500 is a simple to configure and operate live video switcher which also provides live streaming functionality. The Sony HXR-NX80 and PXW-Z90 both utilise 1.0 inch type stacked Sony Exmor RS sensors, and feature Sony’s excellent hybrid AF. These are excellent cameras for a wide range of creative applications such as wedding and event coverage, corporate video work and news reporting.
