Description
xThe Audio-Technica BP4029 is a compact professional stereo shotgun microphone engineered for broadcast, filmmaking, videography, field recording, and on-camera production. Measuring only 236mm long and weighing 103g, it provides flexible stereo recording capabilities in a lightweight format that can be comfortably mounted on a camera or boom pole.
The microphone uses independent line-cardioid Mid and figure-of-eight Side condenser elements arranged in a Mid-Side configuration. Users can record discrete, non-matrixed Mid-Side signals for adjustment during post-production or select one of two internally matrixed left/right stereo modes. The wide setting captures a more spacious stereo image, while the narrow setting provides a more focused sound field.
A switchable 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off filter helps reduce environmental noise, mechanical vibration, wind rumble, and other unwanted low-frequency sounds. The microphone’s 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and ability to handle sound levels up to 127 dB SPL make it suitable for dialogue, environmental sound, live events, and other demanding recording applications.
The BP4029 operates using 11–52V DC phantom power and features an integral five-pin XLR output. A 61cm breakout cable is included for connecting the microphone to two standard three-pin XLR inputs, along with a foam windscreen, stand clamp, threaded adapter, O-rings, and protective carrying case.
