xThe Atomos AtomX CAST is a compact switching and streaming module that transforms a compatible 5-inch Atomos Ninja monitor-recorder into a multicamera production system. Designed for corporate presentations, live events, houses of worship, educational content, and studio productions, it provides four HDMI inputs for connecting cameras, computers, and other compatible video sources.
The AtomX CAST accepts a mixture of HD input resolutions up to 1080p60 and provides single-source, picture-in-picture, and four-source multiview display modes. Operators can switch sources using the four physical source-selection buttons or the connected Ninja touchscreen, while four programmable function buttons provide quick access to commonly used controls. Logos and graphic overlays can also be added to the program output.
The HDMI output can display the program, preview, picture-in-picture, or four-source multiview feed. When paired with a compatible Ninja monitor-recorder, the switched program can be recorded in Apple ProRes or Avid DNx formats. A USB-C output also provides UVC connectivity for streaming through compatible computers and platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Skype.
The AtomX CAST mounts directly to the battery interface of the compatible Ninja monitor and passes power through to the monitor. Its integrated mounting threads allow the combined system to be installed on suitable production supports for a compact, portable switching setup.
