The Sonifex CM-CU1 Commentator Unit provides a single commentator position with a dedicated line-level input and flexible routing options for professional broadcast use. It delivers high-quality audio performance, intuitive controls, and robust construction for studio, outside broadcast, or live production environments.

The unit offers an individual commentator output and a mix output combining commentator and line input sources. A 21-segment LED PPM meter displays main output levels, while an adjustable limiter ensures optimal signal performance. The line input can remain active in the mix even when the commentator is off air, allowing for ambient or pre-recorded material to be included.

Four selectable talkback outputs allow communication with other studio endpoints. The wide microphone input gain range supports various microphones, with switchable phantom power. Headphone monitoring is adjustable per ear, and GPIO outputs provide activity indication. The CM-CU1 is a compact, versatile solution for professional commentator setups.
